• Hagia Sophia
  • Once a cathedral, later a mosque, and now a museum, Hagia Sophia is renowned for its massive dome and stunning mosaics. Built in 537 AD, it was the largest cathedral in the world for nearly a thousand years. Your guide will share insights into its architectural marvels and the rich history that has unfolded within its walls.
• Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque)
  • Known for its exquisite blue tiles, the Sultanahmet Mosque was built in the early 17th century. The interior features over 20,000 handmade ceramic tiles, adorned with intricate floral designs. The mosque is a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture and remains an active place of worship. Marvel at its six minarets and serene courtyard.
• Hippodrome
  • The Hippodrome of Constantinople was the social and sporting center of the Byzantine Empire. Today, remnants such as the Obelisk of Theodosius and the Serpent Column can still be seen. Your guide will explain the significance of these monuments and the events that took place in this historic arena.
• Grand Bazaar
  • One of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, the Grand Bazaar boasts over 4,000 shops selling everything from textiles to spices and jewelry. This vibrant marketplace is perfect for shopping and experiencing the local culture. Your guide will provide tips on negotiating and navigating the bazaar.  Closed on Sundays 
• Topkapi Palace
  • Once the residence of Ottoman sultans, Topkapi Palace is a sprawling complex filled with stunning architecture and opulent rooms. Discover the palace’s fascinating history, including its role in the administration of the empire and its impressive collections of artifacts, including the famous Topkapi Dagger and sacred relics. (Harem sections are not included in the program and are due to extra entrance fees) Closed on Tuesday.
